Black Students in Computer Science

We're Back—And Better Than Ever.

Our Mission

Collaborate. Grow. Celebrate.

Here at BSCS, our mission is to support, inspire, and empower students interested in technology and Computer Science from all reaches of the African diaspora. Despite the 4 percent undergraduate population of Black students at Tufts, this group bands together to increase and retain the number of Black students studying computer science and its related concentrations. BSCS provides students with dedicated programming and services to both aid this effort and give rise to an encouraging community that leads underrepresented students to establish meaningful connections to guide them through the world of CS.

What We Do

Academic Support.

Social Engagement.

Professional Development.
